INTERNATIONAL FLEET REVIEW
At the recent curtain raiser of the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2016, the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral RK Dhowan laid special emphasis on three dimensions -- indigenisation, innovation and ingenuity. "The blueprint of the future of Indian Navy is anchored on self reliance," he said. IFR, in its second edition, will be held from February 4, 2016 to February 8, 2016 at Visakhapatnam.
46 countries have currently confirmed their participation.the Chinese navy, called People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA-N) will also participate in the event. "As far as participation of China is concerned...from the information available to us from our embassy, the PLA Navy is likely to participate with a ship as well as a delegation," Dhowan said.
MAKE IN INDIA
Indian Navy has time and again stressed on the need for self-reliance and in
this regard the importance of indigenisation. In this regard, there will be a
maritime exhibition at the IFR. The overall theme of the Maritime Exhibition is
" Make in India".

the participants have been launched. The theme of the event is 'United through
Nations' and the mascot is Dolphin.
